The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops Review

Hellooooo peopleeeee!=)
So today's review is a makeup product from 'The Body Shop'.

I've never try any makeup products from 'The Body Shop' because I've never really heard anyone talking about them. But I heard people starting to talk about their shade adjusting drops which can basically turn any liquid products lighter or darker. They have a lightening shade adjusting drops and also a darkening shade adjusting drops. Since my current foundation and concealer that I'm using right now are slightly too dark for my current skin tone, I decided to invest in the lightening drops. Apparently, it's supposed to be a drugstore dupe for the famous Cover FX drops.

Claims:
If you have light to medium skin you may find your foundation looks too dark or orange. A concentration of white and pink pigments in our Lightening Drops helps neutralise yellowness while lightening. Simply add a drop to lighten light to medium shades. Transform an "almost right" foundation shade into the perfect one. Also available in a darkening tone. 1 drop = 1/2 a shade lighter. Works with most liquid foundation.

Ingredients: available on their website which is linked at the very bottom of this post.

Rate: 7/10

  1. Two swipe of DiorSkin Star Concealer at the back of my hand.
  2. Adding 2 drops of the lightening drops to my concealer.
  3. The before shows the concealer without mixing the lightening drops.
  4. The after shows the concealer blended with the lightening drops.
*I have mixed 2 drops of lightening drops and 2 swipe of the concealer. The result is supposed to be a shade lighter because 1 drop = half a shade lighter.

Would you recommend to others: yes

Personal experience using it: I actually like this product because it really did work at changing the color of your foundation/concealer. I was using it to mix with my concealer on a daily basis because my concealer was really orange and dark. I would say this drops did changed the color but it doesn't change the undertone of your foundation/concealer. For example, my concealer has an orange undertone and by adding this drops my concealer changed from shade 3 to shade 2 but under certain lighting, it still showed some orange undertone of this concealer. I've also tested my foundation which is too yellow on my skin and it still did showed the yellow undertone under certain lighting especially on camera. I agreed that this is a really great innovative, creative product. I only suggest for those who wanted to changed their foundation/concealer not more than 3 shades, otherwise I would suggest you to buy a new foundation/concealer because there is no point using 20 drops of this drops to change from shade 10 to shade 1. It's definitely more affordable price wise, so if you are thinking of getting more high end shade adjusting drops, why not try this first?

Would you repurchase: not now because it last for ages!

Product value/price: €17 (I think they raised the price because I remembered when I bought it which is around April, the price was not more than €15)

Where I bought mine: The Body Shop, Henry Street Dublin
