Comparison between Urban Decay Naked 1 and Naked 2

Hey guys!=)
So today is surprisingly not a product review post but another comparison post between the latest hyped-up Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics and it's original palette.
All of the pictures below are taken from Google and edited by me.

Naked Basics
So this is the original Naked Basics which is also the 1st Naked Basics palette that Urban Decay launches 2 years ago.
It has all the cooler and neutral tone shades in this palette.
Personally, I think that this palette kinda stands for the Naked 2 palette because not everyone has the money to splurge on Naked 2 and I think that Naked 2 matches this palette a lot compared to Naked 1 and 3.
If you like neutral shades like me then this is a good one for you.
But if you've purchased Naked 2 palette then there's no need for you to buy this palette anymore.
It's actually pretty convenient and travel-friendly since it's small and secure very well.
I basically can rock daytime and night time eyeshadows with this palette.
It's a go-to travel must-have palette for me.

What you get: Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (cream bisque matte), Walk of Shame (very light nude matte), Naked 2 (taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte) and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte).

Naked 2 Basics
This is what Urban Decay came out with the 2nd Naked Basics palette 2 years later.
When I first saw it, I was like OMG, this is the exact palette for Naked 3 except in a smaller version.
The shades in it are more pink undertone.
Personally, I won't buy this palette just because it has more pink based shades and I don't look good with those.
But if you haven't own the Naked 3 yet and was thinking of getting it but has not enough money to splurge on the Naked 3 then why not get the smaller palette?
It is actually for any kind of skin tones so don't worry about that.
It's travel-friendly as well and you can rock these eyeshadows at any time.

What you get: Skimp (pale nude satin), Stark (nude-pink matte), Frish (warm gray matte), Cover (muted red-brown matte), Primal (muted brown matte) and Undone (deep, smoky brown matte).

Top: Naked Basics
Bottom: Naked 2 Basics
So for your convenient, I decided to compare this 2 palettes together by putting them top and bottom.
Both of the palette shades are all matte.
To make it easier for you, Naked Basics has all the neutral shades and Naked 2 Basics has slightly more pink tone shades.
Naked Basics has a matte black whereas Naked 2 Basics only has a deep matte brown shade as their darkest shade.
Basically, Naked 2 Basics has more darker shades than Naked Basics since Naked Basics has a lot more lighter and cooler shades for highlight.
Overall, I do recommend both of these palettes because they are very good quality eyeshadows but it's all up to you whether you are a neutral shades fan or the other way round.
It's nice that Urban Decay launched Naked 2 Basics for those who can't afford Naked 3.
They are both $29 with 6 eyeshadows in it whereas the bigger Naked palettes is $54 and has 12 eyeshadows.
Definitely, buying the bigger 12 shades Naked palette is more worth your money but there's just some people out there like me who can't really afford $54 for an eyeshadow palette so we rather get the smaller palettes=)
At least we still get to try some of their eyeshadows=)
