Kiehls Lip Balm #1 Review

Hello guys!=)
So today's review is a lip balm from 'Kiehls'.

There is a reason why this is called #1 lip balm because actually, it is their number 1 bestselling lip balm among their lip balm range! Do you know that Kiehls actually accept empty Kiehls bottles? They will help you to recycle them! Also, they will give you a card and you can collect a stamp each time you return an empty Kiehls bottle. It must be a full size product, not a small sample or travel size product. After you collect certain amount of stamp, you can get free products! Sometimes even free full size products! I'm a major Kiehls fan, I've since gotten a lot of free full size and travel size products after returning so many empty bottles to them. I'm glad that they did this recycling program because it is not just only a clever marketing strategy but it will actually attract your consumer to keep re-purchasing and re-purchasing your products in order to finish them and get free full size products. So this lip balm is one of their full size products that I got for free. I've never think of  buying this lip balm actually, but since I've got given for free, why not try it?

Rate: 6.5/10

Consistency/texture: balm

Smell/scent: has some sort of rubber scent but I think most probably is the scent of wheat germ oil that causes this weird rubbery scent.

Feel: moisturising on lips

Application/how to use: Apply liberally and allow an excess of the lip balm to be absorbed

How often do you use: every night before bed

Effectiveness: thumbs up from me

Packaging: small and sleek. Very travel friendly. But I personally dislike that it is in a squeezy tube and you have to twist open the lid and squeeze the product out on your fingertips before applying to your lips. It's a bit too much steps and unhygienic to me.

Sizes: one size 15ml

Whole product lasted how long: at least 4 months with only once a day use

Product life span: 12 months

Would you recommend to others: maybe

Personal experience using it: I like this lip balm for what it does which is to hydrate my lips. I usually apply a decent layer of this lip balm on my lips before bed. The next day, my lips don't feel dry at all because some lip balm dries too fast and my lips were super dry the next day. My lips feel soft and smooth as well the next day. I do generally like this lip balm UNTIL one day (about half of the lip balm was used) when I was about to apply this lip balm before bed. I was squeezing this product out and all it came out was oil. Just straight up oil came out from the tube. I didn't think too much at that time. I still apply it and went to bed. I was thinking in the back of my head that maybe the oil will be even more moisturising for my lips even though I'm not sure where does it came from. BUT no gurllllll, the oil makes my lips super duper dry! I woke up in the middle of the night with extremely dry lips. I still wasn't aware that this lip balm was causing it so I still continued to used it for a couple more days until my lips were so dry and chapped, they were literally peeling, I stopped using it. I found out it was the oil that was causing this whole thing to happen. So what I did was, I put the lip balm tube lying horizontally instead of standing vertically which is how I usually put. Then, the lip balm went back to the usual normal balm consistency and it was completely fine to use. My lips weren't dry at all. So I am really wondering is it that my lip balm melted or something? Why does the oil and the balm separated? Can somebody tell me? Have you guys experienced any of this? Let me know in the comment section below.

Would you repurchase: not really for now

Product value/price: £9.50

Where I bought mine: mine was given to me for free in exchange of several empty Kiehls bottles
