NEW FORMULAE for Lush Mask of Magnaminty!

Hey loves!=) So this is an extra post for an update on 'Lush Mask of Magnaminty'. So if you haven't read the post I wrote all about this mask then click HERE. It is a full review that I wrote for this mask. I didn't mentioned anything about the formula changing because I was unsure but I popped into Lush store yesterday and found out this new news about this mask.

Right picture: New Mask of Magnaminty

So basically, shown in the picture above is 2 different masks but with the same name, packaging, size, color of the mask, etc. But the difference is there is one with the words self-preserving on it and the other one doesn't have that. Another biggest difference is the ingredients. The OLD mask has thicker consistency because the main ingredient is kaolin whereas the NEW mask has more slimy consistency because the main ingredient is honey. If you notice in Lush stores, they only put the NEW mask on shelves for people to try because they are actually doing a survey to find out whether customers prefer the OLD mask or the NEW mask. They would bring back the OLD mask if it has higher demand than the NEW mask. But so far, quite a lot of people still don't know there's a change in the formulae.

I personally prefer the OLD mask because of the consistency and it is more minty smelling and feels more tingly and cooling on the skin. The NEW mask has more honey in it that's why it's self-preserving because honey can help preserve the mask longer. But it doesn't feel as tingly and cooling as the OLD mask. If you love cooling mask like I do then I would suggest to go for the OLD mask. Both have the same amount of time before it expires. Both don't have to store in fridge. But to me the results for both of them is actually different even though the claimed to give the same results. But since the arrangement of the ingredients are slightly different, obviously the results are slightly different as well.

I've tried both of them and I must say the OLD mask is better for skin that's currently breaking out or you have acne problems. I find that it really works on treating breakouts while gently exfoliate your skin a little. If you read my blog post about this mask then you'll know that it dries till like a mud/clay mask. The NEW mask is nice as well but it's more slimy feeling on the skin and it won't really dries because of the honey. It doesn't really exfoliates as much as the OLD mask because it has more honey and less azuki beans that's supposed to help gently exfoliates your skin.

There's a difference in scent as well. Obviously the OLD mask smells more minty. I couldn't really describe the scent of the NEW mask because I don't quite remember the scent of it. The NEW mask is more easier to wash off because it doesn't dries hard whereas the OLD mask takes a bit of time to wash it off. Both claimed to do the same thing and give the same results but you have to really try it out on your own and see which one you prefer.

If you are interested in them and wanted to know more about the NEW and OLD masks then feel free to pop into Lush stores. They would love to explain to you in a more detailed way. Shout out to June at Henry Street Lush Store, Dublin because she's the one who told me all of these and I adore her because she's so nice plus we both love the OLD version of this mask!=) And those who wanted to buy the OLD mask, you can always go into Lush and tell them you want the NON-self-preserving Lush Mask of Magnaminty. I believe they will always have some store in the shelves because that was where June took and exchanged for me for the OLD mask. I didn't actually know they have it store in the shelves hiding.
