Tarte Pure Maracuja Oil Review

Hey loves!=)
So this week's review is all about this pure oil from 'Tarte'.

If you guys don't know who or what 'Tarte' is, you are probably living under a rock. 'Tarte' is very famous in their makeup products. Their skincare line is amazing as well but they do not have much products for their skincare. I have tried the 'Tarte C-Brighter Eye Treatment' and it's so nice! I did actually have high hopes on this oil because apparently it's so hyped up among the beauty communities and it's supposed to be an amazing product.

Claims:
Rich in essential fatty acids known to recharge and replenish skin, maracuja oil helps deliver an overall rejuvenated and even-toned complexion while giving the appearance of brighter skin thanks to a high dose of vitamin C. This powerful anti-aging elixir provides instant hydration-quenching dry skin with no greasy or filmy feel.

In a 6 week consumer use study:

  • 96% of women saw an overall visible improvement in skin
  • 91% of women saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles
  • 94% of women saw a visible improvement in skin texture
  • 94% of women thought skin appeared renewed and rejuvenated
  • dermatologist tested

Ingredients:
Passiflora edulis seed oil, tocopherol

Rate: 7/10

Consistency/texture: straight up oil so I don't think it's necessary for me to show you a picture of just oil

Smell/scent: woody, nutty scent

Feel: slight oily

Application/how to use: At night apply 2-3 drops of maracuja oil in your hands, rub them together and pat on clean, dry skin on face and neck. This powerful multi-tasking elixir can also be used to help soften cuticles, tame flyaways, condition split ends and hydrate dry skin and rough patches.

Packaging: glass-made, good! Came with a pippette (not sure what that 'sucky' thing is called)

Whole product lasted how long: not sure because I didn't get to finish it. Why? I explained it down below.

Would you recommend to others: not really

Personal experience using it: I didn't end up finishing this oil and it still has about half of the bottle left sitting on my desk. I tried to use this oil on my face since it's famous as a face oil but it ended up breaking me out so I stopped. My skin doesn't really cooperates well with facial oils. So since then I left it in my drawer for quite some time until one day I saw Rachel Talbott on Youtube, she's using this oil as a body oil. She mixes it with her body lotion so my mind immediately "click" and I started to use this the same way as how she uses it. I don't like to waste products so I was really happy that I found a way to use it. I love it as a body oil. It is very moisturising and makes my skin really soft and smooth. But something happened to my body after I've used this oil for about 3 months. I used this oil with my body lotion to add extra hydration to my skin because the body lotion that I was using wasn't moisturising enough. It was perfect but then one day, I started to notice my skin on my body was breaking out. My hands and legs have small red bumps (kinda like pimples). I was terrified so I immediately stop using it because I knew it was the oil since I haven't been using anything different except for that oil. I should have known that my body wouldn't like it as well when the skin on my face doesn't likes it at first. So be careful on what you are using on your face and body.

Would you repurchase it: absolutely not!
