1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?
18 years old if I'm not wrong. I started wearing makeup pretty late.
2. How did you get into makeup?
I got into makeup because my sister who's a year older than me wears makeup and she kinda inspires me because she looks even more pretty every time she wears makeup and I have no self-confidence at all, so I thought wearing makeup to make me look pretty will boost my confidence!
3. What are some of your favorite brands?
High-end: Benefit, Urban Decay, Lancome, Too Faced (I don't own a lot of high-end makeup)
Drugstore: Maybelline, Loreal, Revlon, Rimmel
4. What does makeup mean to you?
Makeup is such a magical thing. It can boost one's confidence. Wearing makeup on special events and occasions means polite and respect. It's not only for your own physical look but for people to feel comfortable when talking to you because you definitely don't want your heavy dark circles showing when talking to anyone.
5. If you could only wear 4 products on your face what would they be?
In general, I would wear mascara, concealer, powder and brows.
6. What is your favorite thing about makeup?
I can be creative and play with the eyeshadow colors.
7. What do you think about drugstore makeup vs high end makeup?
I think high end makeup definitely has it's own quality for the price whereas drugstore is not bad as well. But for drugstore price, you can't expect to much from them. For me, I prefer high end face products because I'm the kind of person who rather spend all the money on skincare rather than makeup. But, if I wanna buy high end makeup, I would purchase face products like foundation and concealer because the salesgirl can help you match the correct shade rather than simply guessing the shade and blindly buying in the drugstore because sometimes I bought the wrong shade of face products and ended up buying another one again and again.
8. What is one tip of advice you can give a beginner?
Less is better. Definitely no makeup is better for your skin, but if you wanna start playing with makeup, the less the better since you're just a beginner, you definitely don't want people to start talking at your back about how bad and cakey your makeup looks or looking back at your own photos laughing at your silly self for caking on so much makeup.
9. What is one makeup trend you never understood?
Lipstick for different skin tones, hair color, etc. Why can't we just buy any lipstick we want and just wear it? I know I definetely can do that, but sometimes lipstick makes your teeth looks yellow. Some lipstick washes you out like crazy and others.
10. What do you think about the beauty community on Youtube?
There is definitely good and bad things about it. I personally watch Youtube a lot and I love the beauty community because I can get to meet new friends, share and exchange experience and thoughts and learn how to do different looks by watching those makeup tutorials. But, I hate the negativity among beauty community, the haters with their hate comments is just disgusting. Haters should definitely back off!
